How do I use ATTI mode on the DJI Mavic 4 Pro and in what situations: The DJI Mavic 4 Pro's ATTI (Attitude) mode automatically engages when the drone loses GPS or the compass signal, or simply if the pilot manually configures it. Unlike POS (Positional) mode or Sport mode, ATTI mode means the drone loses spatial stability, with the GPS unable to automatically correct for sideways or downward movement. This makes piloting more complex, increasing the risk of collision if the pilot lacks sufficient skill.

This mode is often used in environments without GPS signals, such as inside buildings, very confined spaces, dense forests, or mountainous regions, as well as for certain specific tasks where the pilot needs more precise control without intervention from the positioning sensors. It may also be necessary if the GPS temporarily fails due to interference, a lack of satellites, or compass issues. Therefore, the pilot must be prepared to take control in any situation.

When flying in ATTI mode, the pilot directly controls the drone's pitch, roll, descent, and ascent, without the Mavic 4 Pro automatically correcting its position. This means the drone will hover based on the air, weight, or air currents present at the location. Therefore, the pilot must be extremely skilled in handling the control sticks, as well as highly focused to avoid collisions and accidents. Lack of skill can lead to the drone drifting uncontrollably into an obstacle or crashing to the ground.

Ultimately, ATTI mode provides enormous freedom of maneuvering, but at the same time, it means increased piloting complexity. Using ATTI mode requires practice, skill, and a deep understanding of how the drone behaves without the support of positioning systems. Therefore, before using this mode, the pilot must be properly trained and perform specific exercises to gain the necessary proficiency in any emergency situation.
