How does extreme temperature affect the DJI Mavic 4 Pro's flight behavior?

How does extreme temperature affect the DJI Mavic 4 Pro's flight behavior: Ambient temperature is a critical factor in the DJI Mavic 4 Pro's performance, as it directly influences the functioning of the battery, motors, sensors, and data transmission. Both very low and extremely high temperatures can compromise the drone's stability, flight autonomy, and response to unforeseen situations. Ignoring these conditions can lead to serious technical failures and loss of control.

In cold climates, batteries can quickly lose efficiency, significantly reducing flight time. This is because lithium cells operate less efficiently at low temperatures, which can also affect the drone's power-up or even cause it to shut down unexpectedly. DJI recommends warming the batteries to above 20°C before takeoff and constantly monitoring their temperature through the app.

In extremely hot environments, the risk of overheating is high. The Mavic 4 Pro features thermal dissipation mechanisms, but flying during peak temperatures above 40°C (104°F) can cause the system to enter thermal protection mode, limiting its performance or forcing it to land. In these cases, it's advisable to schedule flights during cooler times of the day, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and allow the drone to cool down between flights.

Additionally, navigation sensors and cameras can also be affected by temperature, impairing their accuracy and increasing the risk of errors in automatic functions such as Return to Home or Smart Follow. Flying within DJI's recommended thermal ranges (between -10°C and 40°C) is essential to maintain operational safety and prevent permanent damage to the system.
