How does extreme temperature affect the flight behavior of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro?

How does extreme temperature affect the flight behavior of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro: Operating the DJI Mavic 4 Pro in extreme temperature conditions—whether intense heat or extreme cold—can seriously compromise the drone's performance and flight safety. High temperatures affect motor efficiency, reduce air density (impacting lift), and accelerate overheating of internal components. Very low temperatures, meanwhile, reduce battery efficiency, causing them to drain more quickly or even shut down suddenly if they haven't warmed up properly.

In hot conditions, it is recommended to avoid prolonged flights or flights in full sun during peak hours. Overheating can generate system alerts or cause forced automatic landings. Users should constantly monitor the drone's temperature using the DJI Fly app and allow rest periods between flights if they notice an unusual increase. It is also vital to store the drone in the shade and not leave it powered on unnecessarily.

In cold climates, it's best to preheat the batteries before takeoff. DJI recommends using the automatic heater, which activates when the battery detects a very low temperature. It's also best to take off only when the batteries have reached at least 15°C (59°F). Abrupt maneuvers or sudden accelerations should be avoided in the first few minutes of flight, as they can stress the system before the battery has reached its optimal performance.

Flying in temperatures outside the recommended operating range (typically -10°C to 40°C) increases the risk of failure. Therefore, proper advance planning, the use of accessories for extreme climates, and constant monitoring via the app are key to a safe and controlled flight experience with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.
